As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will play a vital role in supporting our plasma center operations.

About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist, you will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center-level support of environmental, health, and safety (EHS).

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Evaluate donor reactions that occur at the facility as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when in need of providing unacceptable findings to donors or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
What We're Looking For

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Medical Support Specialist with a strong background in clinical or hospital settings. Your qualifications should include:

  • A current license or certification in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactory completion of the FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly wage range of $21.15-$29.09 based on your location, qualifications, and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes short-term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and company match, among others.
