Job Summary

The ECMO Specialist is a critical care expert responsible for managing the ECMO system, including blood pumps, tubing, artificial oxygenators, and related equipment. This role requires a strong background in neonatal, pediatric, cardiac, or adult populations, as well as licensure as a registered nurse, respiratory therapist, certified perfusionist, or physician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with bedside RNs, physicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care for complex patients.
  • Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level, utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe and effective care, interacting with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to work indoors and in temperature extremes, as well as from elevated areas and in confined/cramped spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted, as well as exert up to 50 lbs. of force.
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes, and perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements.
