Patient Services Coordinator III

The Patient Services Coordinator III plays a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a high-volume ambulatory clinic setting. This dynamic individual will serve as the primary connection between patients and providers, ensuring a seamless and respectful experience for all.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome patients and visitors to the clinic in a professional and timely manner.
- Effectively interact with a diverse population, providing courteous customer service skills.
- Perform all check-in and check-out functions, verifying demographic and insurance information.
- Collect co-payments and meet copay collection targets as set by the Division and Primary Care.
- Triage complex telephone calls, utilizing problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Manage flow in the waiting room, maintaining neatness and providing updates on wait times.
- Actively participate in team huddles, contributing to the caring role of patients in team-based care.
- Schedule appropriate resources, such as interpreter services, as needed for patient visits.
- Provide clinicians with scheduling support and day-to-day support.
- Verify insurance coverage and alignment with the correct PCP.
- Assist in training and orientation of new coordinators and staff.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of a Patient Service Coordinator I and II.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 3-4 years of related experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Undergraduate or Associates degree preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to organize time and priorities effectively.
- Ability to effectively manage day-to-day operational tasks and adapt to changes in priorities.
- Demonstrates initiative, continually strives to enhance the credibility of the department.
- Ability to solve problems and resolve complex issues on behalf of providers and patients.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a good command of the English language.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Epic experience preferable.
