About the Role:

The Certified Veterinary Technician is a vital member of our team at CityVet, responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and operational efficiency. This role involves assisting the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including preparing clients for surgery and restraining animals as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Veterinarian in medical, surgical, and dental surgeries
  • Prepare clients for surgery by assisting in the administering of anesthesia and restraining animals as needed
  • Supervise unlicensed team members in tasks such as suture, anesthesia, blood drawing, and lab testing
  • Perform duties under direct supervision of a Veterinarian, including suture, anesthesia, rabies vaccine administration, and euthanasia

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age at the time of hire
  • At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience
  • Holds valid State License as Certified Veterinary Technician
  • Understanding and ability to properly restrain animals
  • Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication
