Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Part-time Clinical Instructor to join our Nursing Education team at State Fair Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in a clinical setting, providing high-quality instruction and assessment, and contributing to the development of our nursing programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach and assess students in a clinical setting, ensuring they meet the program's learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement curriculum, lesson plans, and assessments that align with the program's philosophy and standards.
  • Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students, promoting their growth and development as nursing professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, adhering to college policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development activities, staying current with best practices in nursing education and simulation.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical syllabi, orientation information, and other program materials.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Report student attendance, grades, and progress reports by published deadlines.
  • Assist with the development of clinical evaluation forms and other assessment tools.
  • Complete evaluations of the clinical site and simulation activities, providing feedback for improvement.
  • Submit course/clinical outcome assessment data for program review.
Qualifications
  • Meet minimum standards for State Board approval, Bachelor's degree in nursing with clinical component.
  • Currently licensed to practice as a registered professional nurse in Missouri.
  • Nursing license cannot ever have been disciplined related to public safety.
  • Active in professional nursing organizations.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate student-centeredness, emotional maturity, and a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.
  • Ability to interact with a broad range of people with diverse backgrounds both on and off campus in a positive manner.
  • Exhibit qualities of self-confidence, common sense, judgment, fairness, creativity, discretion, decisiveness, resiliency, adaptability, courage of convictions, tolerance for ambiguity, integrity, and trustworthiness.
  • Successfully pass required drug and background checks.
  • Equivalent of 2 years of full-time experience within 5 years or 2 years of part-time experience in the last 5 years in nursing education, clinical practice, or administration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Missouri residency.
