Job Summary:

The School Nurse and Youth Care Professional will work closely with students, staff, and parents to provide comprehensive health services and support. This role requires a licensed practical nurse with experience in trach, G-tube feeding, and seizure plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one patient care to students with special needs
  • Develop and implement health programs to promote optimal levels of well-being in students and staff
  • Participate in planning programs that eliminate or minimize health problems of students
  • Maintain and review student health records and statistical information
  • Communicate current health problems, needs, and concerns of students to their parents and appropriate school staff
  • Administer medications and treatments to students as approved by School Board Policy and Virginia Nursing Law

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree - current LPN License in VA
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Virginia
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Job-related experience within the specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility
