Job Title: Behavioral Health Consultant

Dunbar Community Counseling Services is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Consultant to join our team in West and Southwest Philadelphia. As a Behavioral Health Consultant, you will provide one-to-one mental health intervention to children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbances, aiming to prevent more restrictive services or out-of-home placement and promote age-appropriate psychosocial growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and designated individuals to develop skills and techniques for integrating children into normalizing activities.
  • Implement positive behavior reinforcement, crisis intervention techniques, time-structuring, and activities to support children's development.
  • Provide emotional support, social interaction modeling, and other strategies as prescribed in the child's treatment plan.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, education, or a related field.
  • Equivalent degree from a foreign college or university, evaluated by a recognized credential evaluator agency.
  • Associate's degree or 60 credits towards a bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth, or young adults.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a BCaBA, RBT, or BCAT.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing behavioral health services.
