Interventional Radiology Nurse

The Carle Foundation Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Interventional Radiology department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Perform all responsibilities and duties required by the unit, as specific to the scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team.
Complete initial assessment upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care in accordance with unit standards and based on patient and family needs.
Implement plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modify plan of care based upon continuous evaluation.
Take responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate with others directly and in private when necessary to resolve issues. Offer constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers, and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge base.
Fulfill all requirements of departmental competencies.
Administer medications necessary for procedure.
Manage care of patients during moderate sedation.
Monitor hemodynamics throughout procedure.
Provide outline documentation of procedure events.
Understand the use of supplies and equipment used in various procedures.
Requirements:
College Diploma in Nursing or BSN preferred.
Registered Nurse (RN) Illinois and Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS and PALS certification.
Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients.
