Occupational Medicine Specialist for Industrial Settings

MEDICINE FOR BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY (MBI) operates a network of specialized clinics providing acute injury care within an occupational medicine framework. Our services focus on treating work-related injuries, ensuring timely and effective medical interventions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Salary InformationThe estimated hourly rate for this position ranges from $90.98 to $129.29, depending on experience.
Job Responsibilities- Provide Medical Care: Deliver high-quality patient care, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans, in accordance with established clinical protocols and organizational standards.
- Support Advanced Practice Providers: Collaborate with APPs at clinic locations, providing guidance, supervision, and assistance as needed to ensure seamless patient care.
- Evaluate and Manage Injuries: Conduct thorough history and physical exams, interpret radiographs, and provide medical opinions regarding job accommodations and work-related conditions.
- Participate in the Legal Process: Engage in workers' compensation activities, including SAMM's calls, depositions, and testifying in hearings when requested.
- Perform Fit for Duty Evaluations: Assess patients' capacity to safely perform job functions, providing recommendations for accommodations or modifications as necessary.
- Sustain a Positive Work Environment: Foster a collaborative and respectful atmosphere by adhering to organizational policies and procedures, promoting open communication, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Exemplify Professionalism: Demonstrate effective communication skills, utilize corporate communication systems appropriately, and adhere to the chain of command.
- Support Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan, staying informed about goals, mission, and values.
- Clinical Expertise: Possess a valid MD/DO degree and current state licensure in good standing.
- Occupational Medicine Experience: Preferred but not required; willingness to train otherwise qualified candidates with experience in UC, FP, IM, ER, Sports Medicine, or Ortho.
- FMCSA Certification: FMCSA certified for DOT exams preferred, required within 60 days of hire (certification expenses covered by MBI).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in computer use, and Electronic Medical Records systems.
- Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
