Job Summary

Morrie's Auto Group, a leading automotive retailer in the Midwest, is seeking an experienced Automotive Production Supervisor to join our team at Morries Okemos Ford in Okemos, MI. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality control process, supervising employees, and ensuring efficient workflow.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, and motivate employees directly reporting to this position.
  • Direct the Quality Control process and supervise the implementation of systems to prevent quality problems and ongoing quality appraisal.
  • Develop and communicate standard repair procedures and quality and cost standards within the detail, paint, and body departments, and monitor performance.
  • Develop and oversee the weekly and daily scheduling of work and assignment of work to technicians in the most productive manner.
  • Communicate due date goals to technicians daily and coordinate information flow between the office and the production floor.
  • Break down repair orders by department and task, assign work to the appropriate technician.
  • Coordinate all supplements with the front office to ensure that the repair order is properly updated.
  • Coordinate the acquisition, storage, and use of sheet metal and hard parts.
  • Administer preventative maintenance program for all equipment and tools, and make recommendations to management regarding replacement or upgrade.
  • Keep up-to-date with new techniques and materials, and facilitate training for all appropriate personnel.
  • Track and monitor key metrics to monitor quality, productivity, and costs.
  • Hold regular meetings with employees to hear their input regarding issues of concern to them, including quality, productivity, and costs.

Requirements

  • Five years' experience as a technician in an automotive service department, including two years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledgeable in all facets of the production operation.
  • Will successfully complete appropriate management training courses.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
