Role Summary

The Facilities Energy Manager position at Crothall Healthcare is responsible for developing and implementing energy management programs that drive sustainability and efficiency within Baptist Hospital.

This role involves collaborating with the Crothall Energy Management Team and external consultants to conduct energy audits, baseline energy consumption, and develop strategies for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team dedicated to energy management within Baptist Hospital, including junior energy engineers, analysts, and administrative staff.
  • Work with the Crothall Energy Management Team and outside consultants to perform ASHRAE level 1, 2, and 3 energy audits for healthcare and institutional environments.
  • Baseline energy consumption down to the system/load level using instrumentation and existing automation infrastructure.
  • Utilize web-based tracking software and systems like Portfolio Manager for benchmarking and reporting energy data as necessary or required for compliance.
  • Document programs and efforts for improvement, perform analysis required to estimate energy savings, and assess environmental impacts of recommended strategies.
Requirements
  • Minimum five years' experience in energy engineering, with progressive levels of responsibility in energy audits, re-commissioning, and retro-commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of central heating, cooling, and combined heat and power (CHP) plants and HVAC systems, including optimization techniques.
  • BSME/BSEE/BSEM degree with CEM or CEA certification; CBCP, CEBC, CEP certification desirable.
  • Expertise in utilizing multiple vendor Building Management System platforms to collect data for analysis and implement changes to operating sequences.
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple engagements simultaneously, work collaboratively to develop/enhance protocols, and communicate effectively to all levels of client's organization.
