Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct laboratory tests and procedures, including microbiology, hematology, and chemistry
- Process and analyze patient samples, including blood, urine, and tissue
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes and automated analyzers
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely test results
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure laboratory accuracy and reliability
- Medical Technologist Certification (ASCP) or NCA or HEW equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting
- Microbiology experience, including plating and reading for microorganisms, reading gram stains, and processing positive cultures for follow-up
This is a full-time position with a rotating schedule, including weekends and at least one holiday. Scrubs will be provided.
