About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse PT Nights Ortho Neuro to join our team at Saint Mary's Hospital. This is a part-time position with 24 hours per week, working night shifts.

Job Summary

This role involves providing exceptional patient care on our Medical Surgical / Ortho & Neuro unit, specializing in caring for adult patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions, including neurological disorders and musculoskeletal issues. Our nurses work closely with physicians and healthcare providers to monitor patients' progress and provide comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Continuous assessment of patients' conditions, monitoring vitals, administering orders and medications, and documenting progress.
  • Providing wound care and managing surgical incisions.
  • Educating patients and families about their conditions and self-care.
  • Collaborating with all physicians and healthcare provider staff for close monitoring of neurological statuses, cognitive functions, motor skills, sensory responses, and other therapies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an Acute Inpatient setting.
  • Completion of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred).
  • Valid and current Connecticut registered nurse licensure.
  • BLS or CPR Certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
