About the Role

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to join our dynamic team at Foundational People Data Services (FPDS), where you will play a crucial role in re-imagining how innovative people data services are designed and delivered at Amazon.

As a Senior UX Designer, you will be responsible for creating user-centered designs that consider personas, data, customer feedback, user research, and technical constraints/opportunities.

You will work closely with product and engineering teams to establish and maintain detailed user-interface patterns and specifications, and communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives.
  • Relentlessly simplify and distill complex processes into intuitive and elegant UI.
  • Establish and maintain detailed user-interface patterns and specifications.
  • Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
  • Improve design patterns, standards, methods, and processes.
  • Work closely with engineering to effectively incorporate capabilities and constraints of the technology stack.
  • Apply best design practices to arrive at the right customer outcome.
About the Team

Our team includes UX Research and Design and actively partners with Product and Engineering to identify personas, customer problems, influence priorities, planning work, executing design, ensuring quality, evaluating outcomes, and improving mechanisms.

We are looking for an organized, creative, and forward-looking UX Designer to work alongside a Senior UX Researcher from discovery to execution to improve our self-service experiences for builders.

Basic Qualifications
  • 8+ years of design experience.
  • Have an available online portfolio.
  • Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax.
  • Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes.
  • Experience with UX design of complex workflows.
  • Experience designing in an agile development environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
