Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at US Foods, Inc. in a leading food service distribution company. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our fleet vehicles.
**Estimated Salary:** $42,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience
**Job Description:**
The successful candidate will possess excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Your strong communication skills and attention to detail will enable you to effectively collaborate with drivers, mechanics, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, reefers, and lift gates
- Perform preventative maintenance within company standards to minimize downtime and extend vehicle lifespan
- Document all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability accurately and efficiently
- Respond promptly to road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to workplace safety rules and regulations
- Conduct inventory management and recordkeeping tasks
**Requirements and Qualifications:**
- 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic or reefer experience (or equivalent)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse groups
- Prior experience with administering appropriate PM programs and maintaining accurate records
