We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Blood Collection Specialist to join our team at Ansible Government Solutions. Located in Bedford, MA, this full-time position offers a competitive salary of $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Overview

As a Medical Blood Collection Specialist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and transporting them to the laboratory for analysis. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients using phlebotomy techniques
  • Transport blood samples to the laboratory for analysis
  • Accession and receive samples into the VA and DoD laboratory information system
  • Centrifuge samples and pour off into collection tubes
  • Instruct patients in proper collection of 24 hour urine and other samples collected
  • Prepare collection, measure and record 24 hour urine
  • Call up collection lists for inpatient blood draws and look up order numbers and patient information for outpatient
  • Process samples to the automated loader of the analyzer
  • Answer phones and direct calls to other laboratory personnel
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (e.g. ASCP, AMT, AMCA)
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience within the last 3 years as a Patient Service Technician/Phlebotomist
  • Experience with the Vista Laboratory Information System (LIS) is preferred
