Public Health Nurse

This is a responsible public health nursing position focused on the prevention and control of communicable diseases in the community. The role involves conducting disease investigations, following individuals with infectious diseases, contacting and monitoring those who had contact with someone with an infectious disease, and completing disease reporting. Additionally, the position may involve providing education and information about communicable diseases to the public, healthcare providers, or city and county employees.

As a Public Health Nurse, you will use leadership skills and independent judgment when completing work assignments, but decisions will be made in accordance with established practice and departmental policies and procedures. Supervision will be received from a supervisor, with work being reviewed through established quality control measures.

The ideal candidate will possess a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Nebraska and have experience in delivering public health nursing services. They will also have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
