Oral Surgery Assistant Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our team at MAX Surgical Specialty Management. As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our oral surgeons throughout various surgical procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the treatment room, ensuring it is clean, organized, and equipped with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments according to infection control guidelines.
- Set up equipment such as suction devices, dental chairs, X-ray machines, and surgical lights.
- Assist oral surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs and providing necessary instruments and materials.
- Maintain a sterile environment during surgery, following strict infection control protocols.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and comfort level during surgery, ensuring their well-being at all times.
- Handle and dispose of surgical waste and hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program is required.
- Valid X-Ray License is required.
- Previous experience as a dental assistant, particularly in oral surgery, is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of oral surgery procedures, instruments, and materials.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety measures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in dental software and computer literacy.
