Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute. As a leader of a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric care to patients with a broad range of mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric evaluations and assessments to patients
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address patient needs
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Conduct forensic evaluations as needed
Requirements
  • MD degree or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved psychiatry residency program
  • License to practice medicine and surgery in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Federal license to prescribe medications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Clinical experience in forensic psychiatry
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
