Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician/Medical Technologist to join our team at MLee Healthcare Staffing and Recruiting, Inc. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic testing, maintaining lab equipment, and ensuring the highest level of quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and motivate the laboratory team to achieve exceptional results.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies through ongoing education and training.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect high-quality specimens from patients of all ages.
  • Conduct accurate testing in designated departments and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures for quality control, document corrective actions, and make informed decisions about patient results.
  • Process proficiency samples, document critical values, and maintain confidentiality when releasing results.
  • Participate in competency testing and professional development activities to stay current with industry standards.
  • Maintain certification and actively participate in in-service education and meetings.
  • May include training new employees or students.
  • Utilize computer and laboratory information system (LIS) effectively to manage laboratory operations.
  • Collaborate positively with patients, visitors, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Support the Medical Center's mission and maintain consistent attendance.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Registered MLT/MT with valid credentials (ASCP, NCAMLP, AMT, ASMT or equivalent) or eligible within six (6) months.
  • Proficient in operating laboratory instruments and interpreting results.
  • Effective communication skills with patients, medical staff, and customers.
  • Capable of catering to patients of all ages and understanding their needs and limitations.
  • Familiarity with laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within set guidelines.
