Purchasing Manager Position at Creative Financial Staffing

Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum.

About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our supply chain operations and drive strategic sourcing initiatives. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that meet our business objectives.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in supplier management, negotiations, and contract administration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of procurement plans and contribute to the development of our company's long-term strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and Negotiation: Lead supplier sourcing and negotiations for Military components, leveraging your expertise to secure optimal pricing and delivery terms.
  • Contract Administration: Implement supplier agreements as required, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Buyer Development: Lead, develop, and support a team of at least two Buyers, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Performance Metrics: Measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Purchase Price Variance (PPV), Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), and Freight Spend to ensure continued success towards local and corporate goals.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Conduct Make vs. Buy analysis and second-source critical suppliers for make components, ensuring cost savings and minimized risk.
  • Trend Analysis: Track commodity trends and interface with the Military Sales team to ensure costs align with expected margins for contracts.
  • Inventory Management: Manage safety stock, lead-times, and Minimum Order Quantities (MOQs) for assigned locations, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste.
  • Audit Support: Support the Corporate SIOP process and ISO 9001 & AS-9100 audits, demonstrating your commitment to quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel may be required for this position, involving regular meetings with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5+ years supervisory experience in Supply Chain or Purchasing, with a strong background in supplier management and negotiations.
  • A working knowledge of ISO 9001 & AS-9100, with experience in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Made2Manage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle).
  • DFARS/FAR experience and government sourcing contract expertise, with a focus on machined parts, sheet metal, cable, and connectors.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • A process-oriented mindset, with a high-level sense of urgency and a good business sense to develop a vision and/or strategy.
