Youth Mental Health Advocate Opportunity

Greater Sacramento Urban League is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to shape the future of mental health support and advocate for the well-being of young people in our community. As a member of the allcove Youth Group Advisory team, you will have the opportunity to contribute your unique perspective, collaborate with a community of young leaders, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of youth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of innovative care for young people in the community.
- Collaborate with the allcove team and statewide youth advisors.
- Engage with the community to develop projects supporting equity and access.
- Create spaces for advocacy and elevate youth voice.
- Explore strategies to reach young people in diverse communities with the greatest needs.
Qualifications:
- Age Requirement: Must be between the ages of 16 and 25.
- Availability: Able to commit to 8 to 10 hours per month over a 12-month period.
- Diverse Representation: Demonstrate a commitment to diverse representation across socio-economic status, race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, ability, and lived experience.
Application and Selection Process:
- Interested candidates should complete and submit the application.
- Qualified candidates will be invited for a one-on-one interview with current members of the planning team.
- Youth advisors will be selected based on the criteria mentioned above, ensuring a diverse and inclusive representation of young people.
Please note: This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the advancement of mental health care for young people. Stipends will be provided for active participation.
