Production Equipment Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Production Equipment Specialist at Champion Foods, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of complex manufacturing equipment. This includes setting up, testing, and calibrating equipment to maximize product quality and quantity. You will also be responsible for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues, as well as providing informal work direction to new or less experienced colleagues. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations and safety standards, including those related to food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and test equipment to ensure proper operation and quality control.
  • Diagnose and resolve equipment issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide informal work direction to new or less experienced colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations and safety standards.
  • Monitor and adjust production processes to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Inventory materials for production and ensure that appropriate materials are available for production schedules.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance functions at end of shift as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of materials.
  • Minimum of six months experience in a production environment with knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, maintenance, and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of GMP, HACCP, OSHA, and FDA and other regulatory and safety requirements and practices.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and explain technical manufacturing equipment.
  • Evidence of organization and planning skills and ability to meet production deadlines.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous experience with evaluating quality control.

Working Conditions:

  • Position may require continuous standing, lifting, bending, and moving of heavy weight material in difficult work positions.
