The Packaging Tech II - 1st shift is responsible for ensuring safe, quality pharmaceutical product packaging. This position sets up, adjusts and troubleshoots pharmaceutical packaging machinery and ensures that packaging operations are completed per standard operating procedure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute packaging line operations, processes and procedures.
- Coordinate the packaging efforts for designated production lines and teams.
- Complete machine set up, operations, tooling changes, adjustments and troubleshooting related to the operation of one or more packaging lines.
- Assist in maintaining line efficiencies and standards to meet quality packaging requirements and established routing times.
- May participate in the training of new team members or retraining for current team members to ensure all standard operating procedures are followed, as written.
- Maintain appropriate quality and production documentation. Responsible for the review of all assigned batch record documentation to ensure error free work.
- Perform general, light maintenance and troubleshooting of machines and related equipment.
- Review daily production compared to defined routings and identifies ideas for continuous improvement.
- Participate in activities associated with collaboration with Technical Services, Maintenance and Engineering departments with new equipment and equipment qualifications.
- Ensure a safe work environment and that team members are performing job duties in accordance with all safety requirements and guidelines.
- Demonstrate and work in accordance with Corporate Values. Demonstrate the ability to promote these values to Packaging team members.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year experience working in a manufacturing, packaging or maintenance/mechanical environment.
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical packaging standard operating procedures.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to automated machinery.
- Exposure to chemicals.
- Exposure to dust.
- Exposure to fumes/odors.
- Required to wear safety glasses and other PPE.
- Works in a manufacturing environment.
