Job Summary:

Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is seeking a skilled Vascular Patient Care Associate to join our team. As a key member of our vascular unit, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to patients and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct Patient Care: Assist with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, toileting, dressing, and mobility.
  • Patient Data and Specimen Collection: Obtain and record vital signs, pulse oximetry, and non-invasive blood pressure, and report changes to the RN/licensed nurse.
  • Equipment Preparation and Setup: Retrieve equipment from other areas, clean equipment between patient use, and follow equipment management protocols.
  • Documentation: Record intake of fluids and food, height and weight, output of urine, stool, vomitus, and drain output, vital signs, pulse oximetry, and non-invasive blood pressure, and blood glucose results.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a nursing assistant required upon hire, unless incumbent is a nursing student who has completed her/his fundamentals of nursing with a clinical component.
  • Bi-lingual skills preferred.
  • Prior experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
