Job Title: Plumbing Designer

Meade Engineering, Inc. is seeking a skilled Plumbing Designer to join our Mechanical Design team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing plumbing systems for various projects, including data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to design plumbing systems that meet functionality, efficiency, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create detailed plumbing plans, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.
  • Select appropriate materials and equipment for plumbing installations, considering factors such as budget, project requirements, and sustainability.
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing plumbing systems, identify potential issues, and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to integrate plumbing designs with overall building plans.
  • Perform calculations and simulations to analyze hydraulic systems, pipe sizing, and pressure requirements.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to plumbing design and ensure designs meet all applicable requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of plumbing design experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit
  • Familiarity with codes, standards, and best practices
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • CPD certification
  • Experience in green building or energy efficiency projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, or USGBC
  • PE License
