Reliability Engineer for High Voltage Power Modules

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team at Tesla. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing and developing reliable drive inverters for our electric vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced knowledge of reliability methods and power electronics to design accelerated test plans for design validation, burn-in testing, and ongoing reliability testing.
  • Analyze field usage and environmental conditions to optimize requirement setting and test methods.
  • Facilitate and lead design FMEA sessions to assess product risks and determine validation test plans.
  • Work with manufacturing quality, service engineering, and supplier quality teams to identify root causes and drive resolution for failures.
  • Generate process validation test plans and drive root cause corrective action with suppliers.
  • Provide reliability design guidelines and apply reliability lessons learned to enable continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working in power electronics laboratory testing environment.
  • PCB Board level experience with the ability to read and communicate PCBA schematics.
  • Experience with burn-in testing, Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT).
  • Understanding of Highly Accelerated testing methods and governing equations.
  • Experience with developing reliability guidelines and inventing novel ways of reliability testing.
  • Working knowledge of reliability statistics and failure analysis techniques.
