We are seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the Board Chair of Passion for Life, Inc.

Passion for Life, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing forward-thinking career coaching and immersion opportunities driven by the student's passions and talents in a fun, structured, and high-energy environment, helping under-resourced youth transform their passions into rewarding careers.

Role Overview

The Board Chair serves as the chair of the Board of Directors, ensuring that the Board fulfills its responsibilities for the organization's governance. The Chair works in partnership with the Vice-Chair and Executive Director to achieve the vision and mission of the organization and to optimize the relationship between the Board and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership to the organization and its Board, ensuring that the organization has maximum impact for its stakeholders.
  • Governance: Ensure that the governance arrangements are working in the most effective way for the organization, ensure that the Board of Directors is regularly refreshed and incorporates the right balance of skills, knowledge, and experience needed to govern and lead the organization effectively.
  • Fund Development: In collaboration with the Executive Director, develop and lead financial campaigns of revenue streams and ensure financial development, developing, implementing, monitoring, and assessing sound and target fundraising goals.
  • External Relations: Act as an ambassador for the organization, maintain close relationships with key members of the community and with key influences, act as a spokesperson for the organization when appropriate.
  • Leadership: Chair meetings of the Board members effectively and efficiently, bringing impartiality and objectivity to the decision-making process, foster, maintain, and ensure that constructive relationships exist with and between the board members.
Requirements
  • Personal Qualities: Demonstrate a strong and visible passion and commitment to the organization, its strategic objectives, and cause, ability to commit time to conduct the role well, including attending events out of office hours.
  • Experience: Extensive professional experience with significant executive leadership accomplishments, demonstrated success as a nonprofit board member or board, track record of building credibility in the funding community that has resulted in major gifts to a nonprofit.
Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
