After School Program Coordinator

Job Summary:
This position provides instruction and support for participants in the Kids After School Time Program. An incumbent in this position may be designated Lead Counselor, depending on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in and/or lead activities and programming for children and provide appropriate supervision.
- Resolve behavioral issues.
- Complete assigned administrative tasks.
- Clean and organize program facilities.
- Maintain supply inventories.
- Enforce program safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Knowledge of town and department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of program policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of first-aid principles.
- Skill in planning and organizing children's programming.
- Skill in interpersonal relations.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
Benefits:
Part-time positions that are less than 20 hours per week, as well as seasonal, temporary, on-call, or substitute jobs, are not eligible for fringe benefits.
