About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Engineering Manager to lead our process development and engineering teams at Group14. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving process and equipment improvements, directing capital projects, and ensuring safe design and operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement process and equipment improvements to optimize production efficiencies, reduce CAPEX, and improve environmental stewardship.
  2. Direct process development and engineering teams, including plant engineers, process engineers, materials scientists, drafters, and modelers.
  3. Lead all aspects of capital projects associated with process development, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and project execution.
  4. Exercise process safety fundamentals to ensure safe design and operation of manufacturing processes, and mentor newer engineers on process safety considerations.
  5. Support project engineers in the execution and delivery of projects, and lead the down selection process of new equipment vendors.
  6. Interphase with the IP team on generation and documentation of process-related intellectual property.
  7. Work with the R&D and Product teams to develop solutions to problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality, and process safety.
  8. Support construction management efforts at Group14 HQ and develop systems for implementation across production sites.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  2. 10+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or pilot development environment.
  3. 5+ years of experience in engineering leadership.
  4. Capital projects management experience, including $5 million+ projects.
  5. Technology transfer leadership experience in an industrial setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience with managing government contracts and grants.
  2. Experience leading teams in development and implementation of novel materials or products manufacturing at scale.
  3. Experience in bulk solids handling and/or thermal processing equipment.
  4. Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) or Risk Management Program (RMP) covered facilities.
  5. Experience with construction management.
