Compassionate Healthcare Professional

As a compassionate and adaptable Certified Medication Aide, you will join our team at the Good Samaritan Society to provide age-appropriate care to residents with physical and psychological needs. This opportunity allows you to work in various locations within a 150-mile radius from your home address, providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver personalized care to residents, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psycho-social support.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as needed, and create a positive dining experience.
- Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs, provide housekeeping and laundry services, and participate in wellness and recreational programs.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred but not required.
- Minimum age of 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Satisfactorily complete yearly department specific competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education credits for each year.
- A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually based on state requirements.
Must have state required certified/trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA). It is assumed that one must have their certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification prior to attaining their TMA/CMA.
