Pediatric Nurse Job Description

CIFC Health's Pediatric Department is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide medical care to children from birth through late teens. The ideal candidate will collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to address underlying medical conditions and provide the highest standard of care to our patients.

Responsibilities:
Gather information to be used by providers in assessment and patient care.
Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical history to keep accurate records.
Administer medications, draw blood, and give childhood vaccinations.
Deal with the anxieties and demands of parents and help families deal with their child's illness or injury.
Provide education to patients and families on healthcare topics.
Remain up to date on the latest developments, rules, and regulations, drug therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures.
Collaborate with school nurses, WIC colleagues, DCF, and other medical departments as needed.

Requirements:
Bachelor's or associate's degree in nursing.
Current LPN license in the state of Connecticut.
Relevant training and/or certifications as a Pediatric Nurse.
Experience in clinical work as a pediatric nurse preferred.
Emotional and mental strength, dedication, and self-motivation.
Empathy and the ability to relate to children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual strongly encouraged to apply.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Experience with electronic medical records required; eClinical Works preferred.
