We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our team at Penn Medicine. As a key member of our clinical and administrative staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support to physicians and other healthcare professionals, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with procedures.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling phone calls and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and test results.
- Assist with billing and insurance claims, including verifying patient information and submitting claims to insurance companies.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient office operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- MA-AAMA or MA-AMT or MA-NCCT or MA-NHA certification required.
- At least two years of medical receptionist/front desk experience required, with knowledge of medical terminology and physician office operations.
- Preferred experience with EMR systems and medical coding.
