Job Summary

This role involves providing routine technical nursing duties and assisting with other related tasks in patient care. The successful candidate will work under the administrative supervision of a licensed physician and/or registered nurse, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Provides prescribed medication administration and starts intravenous fluids, documenting patient records accurately.
  • Performs basic patient care and treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, rubbing with alcohol, massaging, or performing catheterizations.
  • Interviews patients or relatives to obtain patient health history and immunization status.
  • Administers injections and medications according to hospital policy and procedures.
  • Maintains patient charts, documents patient records, and prepares oral reports.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
  • 1 year of experience as an LPN in a hospital or nursing home environment.
  • Current Tennessee State Licensed Practical Nurse with no restrictions.
  • Must be I.V. Certified, hold current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
Work Environment

Prolonged periods of standing and walking are required. Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds during a scheduled work shift. May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases. Able to handle emergency and/or crisis situations.

Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location factors.
