Role Overview
Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district seeking a dedicated Middle School ELA Teacher to provide temporary maternity leave coverage. As a member of our One Team, you will have the opportunity to inspire and empower students, while making a meaningful impact on your own career.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach 4 classes per day, responding to individual student needs through regular office hours and small group instruction.
- Collaborate with co-teachers, specialists, and other educators to deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction.
- Provide targeted feedback on student work, focusing on equitable grading practices and student engagement.
- Design and implement standards-aligned curriculum, incorporating data-informed and culturally affirming materials.
- Communicate with students, families, and school leaders regarding academic and behavioral progress.
- Build relationships with students and support their character development through advisory and homeroom structures.
- Attend key school events and participate in staff professional development.
- Uphold school systems and structures with fidelity, while actively working to uproot racism and inequality.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related area of study.
- Passing score on the Communications & Literacy MTEL, as well as a MTEL in the content area(s) taught within the first year of employment.
- SEI Endorsement (core academic and special education teachers only) as defined by DESE, within the first year of employment.
