Job Overview

About the Job

As a Senior Water Resources Engineer, you will lead projects focusing on stormwater management, hydrology, and hydraulic modeling/design. You will work closely with project teams to integrate water resource solutions into transportation and site development projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing stormwater management systems (detention/retention ponds, infiltration systems, conveyance channels) ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Performing hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess water flow, flood risks, and drainage capacity using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Evaluating and designing stormwater systems, including conveyance and detention/retention ponds
  • Collaborating with project teams to ensure seamless integration of water resource solutions
  • Preparing and reviewing environmental reports, permits, and impact assessments, ensuring regulatory adherence and sustainability

You will be responsible for leading and managing water resource projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination. As the primary client contact, you will provide technical expertise, ensure project goals, and support proposal preparation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, focusing on Water Resources or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in water resources engineering, emphasizing stormwater management
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM)
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal water regulations
