Job Overview

The Internet Law & Policy Foundry is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior US Policy Associate to join our team in Washington D.C.

About the Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic individual to assume a pivotal role in shaping technology policy reform in the US, with a focus on social media regulation and online safety.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tech policy civil society ecosystem, strong communication skills, and experience in policy analysis, development, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing a multi-year US policy plan advocating for technology policy reform in line with the organization's STAR framework.
  • Researching, writing, and contributing to written materials such as policy briefs, memos, regulator consultations, testimonies, and white papers.
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with political stakeholders, including government officials.
  • Tracking Congressional updates from relevant committees and maintaining accurate legislative trackers and software.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience at a nonprofit, civil society organization, Congress, government, or related professional setting.
  • Deep knowledge of the tech policy civil society ecosystem and a network of contacts throughout government, civil society, think tanks, and social media companies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly when communicating to diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills; ability to represent the organization externally in meetings and civil society events.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy analysis, development, and strategic planning.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000-115,000 per year, depending on experience, with a potential bonus up to $135,000 for candidates with a JD degree.
