Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team at MAAC Recovery Homes. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing culturally competent and trauma-informed services to individuals struggling with behavioral health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and guidance to participants, drawing on your own experiences and professional skills to build trusting relationships.
  • Collaborate with treatment team members to identify additional services needed, such as housing, benefits, education, employment, transportation, childcare, and medical needs.
  • Assist participants in developing independent living skills to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, adhering to MAAC and San Diego County documentation standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking, reading, and writing preferred.
  • Valid CPR, First Aid, and Peer Specialist Certification.
Working Conditions

This position requires regular standing, walking, and sitting, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality of all participants.
