Job Description:

As a key member of the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services, the Investigator VII plays a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents in long-term care facilities.

This critical position involves conducting on-site inspections and investigations to assess compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of acceptable professional standards of resident care and the ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Conducting on-site inspections and investigations to determine compliance with federal and state health and safety regulations.
  2. Communicating clearly and accurately with facility staff, residents, and other stakeholders to provide information and resolve issues.
  3. Completing inspection or survey reports detailing deficiencies, recommended remedies, and narrative to support regulatory findings.
  4. Visting facilities to verify correction of previously cited regulatory violations.
  5. Developing and implementing training for field investigators.

Requirements:
  1. Knowledge of acceptable professional standards of resident care.
  2. Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations.
  3. Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions and regulation-based recommendations.
  4. Ability to operate personal computer-based programs and complete data entry and technically correct, error-free reports.
  5. Ability to effectively present information to executive-level management.
