Technical Sales Representative Apprentice

Carter Machinery Company, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Sales Representative Apprentice to join our team. As a Technical Sales Representative Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sales and customer service, working closely with experienced personnel to develop your skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in pre-assigned locations and departments to gain knowledge and experience required for promotion to sales representative positions.
  • Develop excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Provide exceptional sales and customer service to customers, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks, delegating when necessary, to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve customer issues and improve sales performance.
  • Travel throughout Carter's territory, up to 75% of the time during the training period, to develop sales and customer service skills.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-years of post-secondary education or 2-years related work experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and relocate within the territory of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
