Job Summary

We're looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide top-quality care to our residents. As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents, helping them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide occupational therapy services to residents, including assessment, planning, and implementation of treatment plans
  • Collaborate with the medical staff and other personnel to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients and their families
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Implement and evaluate treatment plans, making adjustments as needed
  • Document resident progress and maintain accurate records
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an educational program for occupational therapy assistants recognized by the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice
  • Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) to practice as an occupational therapy assistant in the state of Florida
  • Prior experience in occupational therapy, preferred
  • Member of state and national American Occupational Therapy Association, preferred
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Proficient administrative and public relations skills
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy principles, methods, materials, and equipment
  • Thorough knowledge of possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures
  • Training in the use of prescriptive devices, preferred
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and to obtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff and other personnel
  • Demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients and employees
  • Maintain patient and employee confidentiality
  • Knowledge of Medicare and third-party reimbursement, preferred
