About the Opportunity

UMass Amherst, a nationally ranked public research university, invites applications for a non-tenure track lecturer position in Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise students, and contribute to departmental committees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach biomedical engineering courses, including cell and molecular biology, engineering mechanics, and biomedical engineering laboratory techniques.
  • Advise undergraduate students, senior design projects, and honors students.
  • Participate in curriculum development and departmental committees.

Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in Engineering or a related field, with preference for biomedical-related disciplines and teaching experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses and advise students.

Additional Information:

The Department of Biomedical Engineering has 13 full-time faculty members, 28 graduate students, and 370 undergraduates. The department expects to expand its faculty and student count in the coming years.
