Macon-Bibb County, GA is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Golf Course Starter. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a smooth flow of play, and promoting our facility programs and events.

Job Summary

The Golf Course Starter is an important position that requires a high level of professionalism, communication skills, and attention to detail. In this role, you will work closely with our golf shop staff to ensure a seamless experience for our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include operating the starter's booth, coordinating tee times, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with other duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate the starter's booth in a professional and courteous manner
• Ensure the orderly flow of play by rotating players and checking the daily tee sheet for updates
• Promote facility programs and events to customers
• Provide welcoming service to each customer or group of customers and ensure they have an enjoyable experience
• Check with the golf shop for any special instructions or updates
• Be in possession of the daily tee sheet and monitor for updates throughout the shift
• Maintain equipment, including radios, carts, and scorecards
• Keep the work area clean and organized at all times
• Assist in maintaining the course and surrounding areas, reporting maintenance issues to the golf shop
• Be prepared for inclement weather, understanding bad weather procedures and communicating with the golf shop as necessary
• Assist other outside staff as needed
• Post conditions of play for the day
• Assist customers in finding games when necessary
• Maintain a sufficient supply of scorecards, pencils, tees, ball markers, and other essential items

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least five years of experience in maintenance or a related field. You must also be able to drive a golf cart and possess a valid Georgia Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Additionally, you should have knowledge of golf course layout, rules, and etiquette, as well as basic computer skills and written/oral communication abilities.

Estimated Salary: $14.00 Hourly
