Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician I (BHT I) plays a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health needs by providing case management services that focus on independence through community living, employment, and integration services. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and community resources.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist clients in achieving their goals and objectives through advocacy and support
- Provide case management services, including assessment, planning, and coordination of services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address the client's unique needs and goals
- Collaborate with community resources, including healthcare providers, social services agencies, and housing organizations
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and services provided

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in a related field preferred
- 6-24 months of experience in case management or a related field
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including client homes, community centers, and office settings. The employee must be able to walk up and down stairs and lift up to 25 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to confidential client information, including behavioral health and physical health diagnoses and disability information, demographic information, and client financial status. The employee must exercise ethical standards in handling confidential information.

Abilities

- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing
- Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Basic mathematics is required for this position
- Position requires a basic understanding of the Arizona State Housing Rules, Regulations, and knowledge of Fair Housing and Landlord Tenant Act Laws and understanding of HUD eligibility guidelines and Housing Contracts are required

Qualifications

- Must be over 21 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must be able to obtain valid certifications for Agency compliance within 90 days of employment
- Pass background check inclusive of Excluded Provider List System (EPLS) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE)
