Globalstar WAN Network Architect

Job Summary

The Globalstar organization is seeking a highly skilled WAN Architect / Engineer to design, implement and support the company's Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure. This role will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security and performance of the WAN network, which connects various locations and systems across the globe.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain the WAN architecture and configuration to ensure optimal performance, security and scalability.
• Develop and maintain WAN traffic routing, security, bandwidth and QoS control policies and procedures.
• Monitor WAN network performance, troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Collaborate with IT teams, networking engineers and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and communication between systems.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, trends and best practices in WAN engineering, traffic routing and security.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of WAN-related projects and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• At least 7 years of experience in WAN engineering, traffic routing and WAN security.
• Expert knowledge of MEF methodologies and terminology, physical layer network engineering, optical networking subjects such as SONET, OADM, WDM technologies, CCNP/CCIE level understanding of under- and overlay technologies.
• Familiarity with workings of colocation hotels and internet hubs, global networking technologies and troubleshooting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to interact clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of management.
