Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our dedicated legal team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in handling a variety of legal matters, providing expert advice, and representing clients in court proceedings.

Responsibilities:

  • Legal Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy and client advice and advocacy.
    • Analyze and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations relevant to each case.
    • Stay current on legal developments and precedents.
  • Case Management:
    • Manage litigation caseload, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
    • Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
    • Prepare and attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and court appearances.
    • Negotiate agreements and contracts and settle claims suitable to clients.
  • Client Consultation:
    • Provide legal counsel to clients, explaining complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their goals and develop effective legal strategies.
  • Document Preparation:
    • Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
    • Review and edit legal documents drafted by support staff.
  • Collaboration:
    • Build client relationships and provide an excellent customer experience.
    • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex cases.
    • Mentor and guide junior associates and legal support staff.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a fully accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Kentucky and in good standing.
  • 2+ years litigation experience; experience in civil litigation is preferred.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Able to commute or relocate to Lexington, KY 40507.
  • Reliable transportation for court proceedings, mediations, depositions, and meetings.
