Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Member Service Representative. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members, guests, and program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide outstanding service to members, guests, and program participants, contributing to member retention.
  2. Build relationships with members, help them connect with each other and the Y, and greet them by name.
  3. Conduct interviews and tours responsive to the needs of prospective members.
  4. Sell memberships and register program participants, recording sales and registrations according to Association procedures.
  5. Stay current on program and membership information to communicate effectively with members, guests, and program participants.
  6. Apply YMCA policies when dealing with member services.
  7. Maintain facility control and security by scanning member key tags, maintaining sign-in sheets, and issuing equipment and/or keys.
  8. Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  9. Carry out risk management and emergency procedures in accordance with Association guidelines, complete and file necessary paperwork.
  10. Follow department protocol to clean and disinfect commonly used surfaces, maintain the cleanliness and organization of work spaces and the welcome center.
  11. Participate as a team member during special promotions and annual campaigns.
  12. Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
  13. Support office staff when necessary.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience in customer service, sales, or related experience.
  2. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  3. Strive to meet/exceed goals and deliver a high-value experience to members.
