Project Director for Fire Protection and Safety Initiatives

Overview:

Olympic West Fire Protection, LLC, a reputable leader in the fire protection industry, seeks an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee projects from initiation to successful completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in overseeing large-scale installations and commercial projects. Knowledge of fire protection or an allied specialty trade is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex installation/contract jobs, ensuring timely and quality execution
  • Coordinate project milestones with internal departments, including estimating, design, purchasing, fabrication, and installation
  • Lead project meetings, focusing on job progress, design coordination, budget-to-actual hours, and risk assessment
  • Oversee project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation
  • Assist in establishing best practices and lead by example in execution
  • Attend job site meetings as a company representative, collaborating with customers and project stakeholders
  • Track, manage, and approve all contract change orders
  • Maintain accurate project progress/completion reports and ensure project logs and documentation files are up-to-date
  • Utilize ERP systems to monitor performance on jobs
  • Review job plans and stock-lists/cut-sheets to improve job efficiency
  • Conduct regular job site visits to review status and progression needed for successful timely completion

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning and execution, with a proven track record of managing commercial projects ranging from $100k to $5MM in revenue
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards and applicable building codes is preferred
  • Ability to problem-solve and work through challenges that arise throughout the project lifecycle
  • Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and ability to facilitate project meetings
  • Proven experience in utilizing project management software
