Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Mobility Specialist to join our team at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.

About the Role:

As a Healthcare Mobility Specialist, you will play a vital role in assisting clinical staff and members of the interprofessional healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care. You will perform delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility, infection control processes, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, inspecting and maintaining equipment, stocking and supplying procurement, and basic clerical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with interprofessional team members to ensure seamless patient care
  • Perform delegated activities to promote patient mobility and independence
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care procedures performed
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to quality and safety targets on the unit-based scorecard

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent education, and one of the following work experiences: one year of Patient Care Assistant/Nursing Assistant work experience in an acute care hospital, six months of therapy experience, or nursing student who has completed first clinical rotation. Additionally, you must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and demonstrate skills and competencies necessary to safely perform assigned job duties.

Benefits:

Houston Methodist offers a competitive salary range of $42,000 - $62,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, paid time off, and educational assistance program.
