Construction Estimator Job Description

Michael Page is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team in Cincinnati. As a key member of our design-build General Contractor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including commercial, education, sports & rec, healthcare, and mixed-use facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Interface with Owner, A/E, and/or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates.
  • Participate in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.
  • Understand construction specifications and blueprint reading.
  • Responsible for soliciting subcontractors/suppliers to ensure proper coverage.

As a Construction Estimator, you will lead efforts to secure long-lead subcontractors and materials, and participate in the design process through a design-assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates, and material replacements. You will also be responsible for identifying and distributing documents to interested bidders.

Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in construction management, engineering, or 5+ years of experience in estimating or project management.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Ground-up project knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Sage, and MS Project.
